Deathmatch : no Cooperative : no Difficulty Settings : no to run the map, just unzip all the files into the quake2\baseq2\maps directory, and at the console, type: map citizen1 ================================================================ * Story * He is wanted in four solar systems for petty larceny, murder in the fourth degree, and nondescript terrorizing in general. His name strikes a certain fear in crime lords and next-door street goons alike. He is Citizen Abel. The most efficient and economical hit-man in the galaxy. A Small Red Box is desired by your latest employer, who goes by the name of Dr. Rennie. The only thing that you know about The Red Box is that Dr. Rennie is willing to fork over serious bucks for it; and basically, that is all you want to hear. Via airplane, the drop should land you right into the loading dock facility The Red Box was last seen in. Luckily, the good Dr. Rennie will also provide a supply box with a Holy Toledo 32-Gauge Shotgun and an amount of premium-grade shotgun shells. The drop will commence in forty minutes, so lock and load, Citizen Abel. Approach with extreme prejudice to earn yourself an honest buck. Good luck. ================================================================ * Construction * Base : none Editor(s) used : WorldCraft 1.6a ArghRad 2.01 (big thanks to mr. wright for responding to my questions) Build Time : a hell of a long time about two months, on and off Compile machine : P2/300, 64Mb ram, Win98 ================================================================ * Other Info * I began making this map after I finished playing the game MDK by Shiny Entertainment (a very well designed game! I just really loved that really bizarre atmosphere it had) Looking Glass Studio's THIEF also made me want to make a single-player level because of how very innovative & different their gameplay was. This is my first single-player level; all my previous maps have been for deathmatch. Basically, I wanted a single-player level that would be fun, and flow well. I also wanted it to be more on the slam-bang action, with the sloppy gibs and such But, the heavy weaponry comes with a cost; because of the fact that health packs come quite few and rare... note: the third level (the brick one) has very nasty r_speeds, usually around the 1000 range. I couldn't get qvis3 to compile it correctly. Lower-end machines will have problems running it, sorry. Thanks if you downloaded this map.
